EURUSD is trading a little bit upwards on Friday morning, but one may hardly call it the trend of the day. The current quote for the instrument is 1.2311.
Starting today, the catholic world is celebrating Good Friday and Easter Monday, that’s why trading sessions will be shorter and the macroeconomic calendar will be almost empty. Later in the evening, EURUSD will trade by itself and investors aren’t expected to make any serious moves.
The statistics from the USA published yesterday supported the USD, although the American currency couldn’t continue the growth it started the day before. Other February reports, the Personal Spending and the Personal Income, didn’t attract attention and were barely noticed, because they remained the same as expected: +0.2% m/m and +0.4% m/m.
However, the reports that followed ruined the overall picture. The Chicago PMI plummeted up to 57.4 points against the expected reading of 62.1 points. The Revised Consumer Sentiment from the University of Michigan also fell, but not as much: from 102.0 point to 101.4 points.
